An Introduction to the ExGAPTM
The ExGAP Seminar is an interactive half-day session that will help
participants understand what an execution gap is, how large it can be,
and how to close it. It gives participants an introduction to the
opportunities, issues and pitfalls to be avoided in closing their
execution gap, and some insight to use in assessing their own situation.
The session is centred around a real life case study where the execution
gap in a forest products manufacturing environment is identified and then
captured.
The first segment focuses on Identifying the Execution Gap, where
participants quantify one element of the execution gap (i.e. how much
money can improved execution add to the bottom line) and understand
the qualitative reasons for its existence.
The second segment shifts to Capturing the Execution Gap, where
the focus becomes the specifics of what needs to be done to improve
operational performance through more consistent execution. Concrete
examples of tactics and tools are discussed, as well as how they are
implemented.
The ExGAP Seminar concludes with an illustration of the results generated.

"Perforex articulated a concept that has been a frustration
within our operations for years. Our plan for the next 18-24 months
was going to focus on capital upgrades, however I am now seriously
considering shifting focus to improving our execution. Ensuring we
get as much as possible out of the assets currently in place makes
perfect sense. Once you hear it, it seems so obvious!"
